Terms and Conditions


  1. It is the responsibility of the applicant to provide, true, accurate and current information.
  2. The Road Traffic (Personalised Registration Mark for Motor Vehicle) Regulations 2021 (hereinafter referred to as 'Regulations 2021') shall have precedence on to over any of the forgoing Terms and Conditions, as may be the case.
  3. Reservation or purchase of personalized registration mark for individuals will be done using NIC or any other means of identification provided under the Regulations 2021.
  4. For the purchase of a personalized registration mark, the applicant should be the registered owner/lessee of the vehicle.
  5. Reservation or purchase of a personalized registration mark for registered companies will be done using the Business Registration Number (BRN).
  6. Registered companies are requested to bring their certificate of incorporation when calling at the NLTA Office.
  7. No cancellation and refund request will be entertained.
  8. For Vehicles on lease:
    • Financial Lease - Reservation of personalized registration mark should be done by lessee.
    • Operating Lease - Reservation of personalized registration mark should be done by the institution owning the vehicle.
  9. A person shall, not later than 6 months after having acquired a personalized registration mark, register his motor vehicle in accordance with the Road Traffic Act (Registration of Motor Vehicles and Trailers) Regulations 2016.
  10. Once the request is approved, the applicant will be notified via email and will have to complete procedures at the counter of NLTA, Cassis.
  11. Payments shall be strictly done by credit/debit cards or cheque only.
  12. A service charge of 1.725% will be applicable for payment by cards above Rs. 25,000
  13. It is to be noted that the reservation fee of Rs. 5000 excludes the implementation fee.
  14. The payee should ensure availability of sufficient fund in his account.
  15. For service specific queries, please contact the NLTA at the same date and time.
  16. Implementation of these new series of personalized registration on PSV licensed vehicles will not be entertained except for contract cars.
  17. The NLTA reserves the right to review the above at any given time should the need arise.
